버스 is a bus, 택시 is a taxi and 지하철 is a subway. With these nouns, (으)로 marks the means of transport: 버스로 가요, 택시로 가요 and 지하철로 가요.
I go to school by bus.
I go to the station by taxi.
I go to the library by subway.
Examples in this unit are text-based. No pronunciation recording or automatic speaking score is used.
Useful basics on this page
I go to the station.
For this particle, use 로 after a vowel or final ㄹ, and 으로 after other final consonants. 버스 and 택시 end in vowels. 지하철 ends in ㄹ, so it also takes 로: 지하철로, not 지하철으로. The particle has other uses, including direction in the next lesson. Walking is expressed here with 걸어가요, not a transport noun plus this particle.
