이거, 그거, 저거: point to a thing
Choose a pointing word based on a clearly described position.
이거 means this thing near the speaker. 그거 often means that thing near the listener; it can also refer to something already mentioned. 저거 points to something over there, away from both people.
What is this?
That is a book.
That over there is a school.
Examples in this unit are text-based. No pronunciation recording or automatic speaking score is used.
이거, 그거 and 저거 are common conversational forms of 이것, 그것 and 저것. 뭐예요? asks what something is. These examples deliberately give a clear physical viewpoint; real 그거 also depends on conversational context.
Try it yourself
A book is in your hand. Ask “What is this?”
A pen is beside the listener, away from you. Which pointing word fits?
A school is far from both speakers. Choose the pointing word.
Build “What is this?”
…
RETRIEVE BEFORE YOU REVEAL
Say it in your own time.
Point to an imaginary nearby object and ask what it is. Answer that it is a book.
이거 뭐예요? 이거 책이에요.
This is your own speaking check; pronunciation is not recorded or graded.
Resolve each question and make a recall self-check to save completion. Unit menus remain available for browsing.
