한 개, 두 개: count things
Count one to four ordinary items with 개.
Korean uses two number systems. For this lesson, use native Korean 하나, 둘, 셋, 넷 for one to four. Before the counter 개, they become 한, 두, 세, 네.
One apple.
Two apples.
There are three apples.
Four apples.
Examples in this unit are text-based. No pronunciation recording or automatic speaking score is used.
사과 means apple; 개 is a general item counter, not the counter for every noun. Use 잔 for cups in the café lesson. Write 사과 한 개 with spaces; attach 가 to 개 when it marks the counted subject. Practise only 1–4 here, rather than guessing higher forms.
