주세요: make a simple café order

Request one or two cups politely using 주세요.

주세요 means “please give me” in an ordinary request. A café order can be short: 물 한 잔 주세요. 잔 counts cups or glasses of a drink. 커피 두 잔 주세요 requests two cups of coffee.

물 한 잔 주세요.

One glass of water, please.

커피 두 잔 주세요.

Two cups of coffee, please.

이거 주세요.

This one, please.

Examples in this unit are text-based. No pronunciation recording or automatic speaking score is used.

Notice the pattern

The counter depends on what you count: 개 for general items, 잔 for cups/glasses. Object particles can be omitted in these common concise requests. 주세요 is useful and polite in this service context; politeness also depends on tone and situation. No payment or order is actually placed by this lesson.

Try it yourself

Which counter fits cups of coffee in this lesson?

Choose two coffees, please.

Which asks to receive an item?

Build “One glass of water, please.”

…

RETRIEVE BEFORE YOU REVEAL

Say it in your own time.

Order two coffees, then ask an imaginary price.

Resolve each question and make a recall self-check to save completion. Unit menus remain available for browsing.
