Everyday Korean · one useful step · LESSON 3 / 4
Ask about everyday activities
Extend the permission pattern to eating and taking photos.
Previous and Next let you browse. Save & next records completed practice.
You already know an action request. Now change the ending to ask whether you may do the action yourself.
May I eat here?
May I take a photo?
Please take a photo.
A quick reminder before you practise
Distinguish a destination, a location of presence and a location of action.
Turn a familiar action into a polite request.
Compare 먹어요 → 먹어도 돼요? and 찍어요 → 찍어도 돼요? Keep the familiar object and action-location markers: 사진을, 여기에서. The permission ending is not the same as 주세요. These examples ask about permission, not whether you have the physical ability to do something.
Try it yourself
Ask permission to eat here.
Which sentence asks the listener to take a photo?
Which marker fits the action location 여기__ 먹어도 돼요?
Build “May I take a photo?”
…
RETRIEVE BEFORE YOU REVEAL
Say it in your own time.
Ask permission to eat here, then ask someone to take a photo for you.
여기에서 먹어도 돼요? 사진을 찍어 주세요.
Your speaking check is self-reported. Pronunciation is not recorded or graded.
