좋아하다 means to like. Its everyday polite form is 좋아해요. Give the person as a topic if needed, then the thing they like as an object. 음악 means music; 영화 means a movie or movies, depending on context.

저는 음악을 좋아해요.

I like music.

유나는 영화를 좋아해요.

Yuna likes movies.

저는 커피를 안 좋아해요.

I do not like coffee.

Examples in this unit are text-based. No pronunciation recording or automatic speaking score is used.

Useful basics on this page
을/를: what do you eat or read? →책을 읽어요.

I read a book.

안: say you do not do something →커피를 안 마셔요.

I do not drink coffee.

Notice the pattern

Use 을 after a final consonant (음악을) and 를 after a vowel (영화를, 커피를). 좋아하다 is a single verb, so its short negative is 안 좋아해요. Compare 공부 안 해요, where 공부 is a separate activity noun. A preference does not tell us what someone is doing right now.

Try it yourself

Complete 음악__ 좋아해요. 악 ends in final ㄱ.

Complete 영화__ 좋아해요. 화 ends in a vowel.

Choose the ordinary short negative of 좋아해요.

Build “I like music.”

…

From Unit 4: choose “I do not study”.

RETRIEVE BEFORE YOU REVEAL

Say it in your own time.

Say one fictional preference and one thing you do not like.

Resolve each question and make a recall self-check to save completion. Unit menus remain available for browsing.
